A topographical map of the area west of Münster showing the camp sites and movements of the Allied army between 26 and 31 May, and 12 August to September 1758. Seven Years War (1756-63). Oriented with north-north-east to top (cardinal points).

The area covered is irregular, bounded on the west by the River Rhine with Emmerich (51°50'00"N 06°15'00"E) at the north-west corner; on the south by the River Imscher with an extrusion across the neatline to include Duisburg (51°26'00"N 06°45'00"E); extends east as far as Lüdinghausen (51°46'00"N 07°28'00"E) but also includes Münster. The distance is about 80 km (about 50 miles) west to east and about 53 km (33 miles) north to south.

Condition: no fold lines; crisp image from what is probably an early pull from the copperplates; guarded into volume. Verso: some induced discolouration.
