      A map of the encampment of the Allied army under the command of Prince Charles of Lorraine at Diessen, 19-20 July 1746. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48). Oriented with south to top.

      The march from Gilze, south-eastwards to Diessen, was about 17 km (10.5 miles). The encampment of the Austrians, Hanoverians, English, and Hessians extends for 10 km (6.2 miles) across heathland from Diessen, through Westerberse (Westelbeers 51°26'42"N 05°12'40"E) to Hooglohn (Hoogeloon 51°23'51"N 05°16'05"E).
