The map covers the area of the southern Netherlands and north-eastern Belgium, and part of North Rhine-Westphalia, roughly from The Hague (52°04'36"N 04°17'55"E) and Leyden (Leiden 52°09'30"N 04°29'35"E) in the north-west to Zutphen (52°08'18"N 06°12'05"E) in the north east, and from Halle (50°44'01"N 04°14'04"E) in the south-west to south of Aix-la-Chapelle (Aachen 50°46'35"N 06°05'00"E) in the south-east.
The manuscript annotations showing the locations of encampments of the Allied army are in the hand of George Augustus Schultz, Cumberland's draughtsman.
Condition: crumpled and worn around the edges. Verso: heavy surface dirt along left edge, consistent with the map having been stored as a roll; right of centre, a heavily water-stained patch, perhaps from the removal of Cumberland's cipher label.

? George Augustus Schultz (active 1734-49) (annotator)
? Eugène Henri Fricx (1644-1730) (cartographer)
