A map of encampment at Coxheath, 1756. Seven Years War (1756-63). Oriented with north to top (cardinal points).

The facing page (RCIN 731068.d) lists the encamped regiments. The camp took place from July to 3 November. The encamped Hanoverian regiments, under the command of General Sommerfeld, Lieutenant-Generals Sporken and Oberg, Major-Generals Kilmansegge and Hardenberg are: Foot Guards 2 Bat.; Sporken; Oberg; Kilmansegge; Hardenberg; Diepenbroek; Hodenberg; Wagenheim; Hauz; Fabrice; Zastrow; Artillery.

BL Add MS 15532: [9th f. numbered top right, black pencil:] 7 'Plan of the Encampment on Cox Heath 1756.' Watermark: fleur-de-lys in crowned shield, the letters G R below. Size: 34.3 x 48.6 cm (image). [The lettering of the list of camps is all sloping copperplate; there are minor differences in lettering on the plan; the K.Mil. version has a more carefully drawn compass indicator: in a double circle, small circle in centre, and fleur-de-lys north point.] Watermark: fleur-de-lys in crowned shield the letters G R below. Size: 32.6 x 34.5 cm (image).
